Residential solar power systems have become an increasingly popular and cost-effective means of providing power to your home, especially in these days of steadily rising electricity costs. Solar power systems enable you to reduce and control your monthly utility costs, add immediate value to your property and make a significant and immediate contribution to the growing “Green” movement.
And remember, the cost and future availability of power to your home will never again be influenced by global politics, hurricanes, earthquakes, terrorism, piracy, pandemics or any of the other various calamities that can and do threaten fuel prices and availability.
A residential solar electric system captures the bountiful energy of the sun and makes that energy available to the homeowner on demand, around the clock. Solar panels are comprised of photovoltaic, or PV cells, devices that transform light photons directly into electricity. The electricity is then stored in a large battery for use whenever it is needed.
PV cells are made up of at least two layers of semiconductor material. One layer has a positive charge, the other a negative charge. When sunlight enters the cell, some of the photons from the sunlight are absorbed by the semiconductor material, freeing electrons from the cell’s negative layer to flow through an external circle and back into the positive layer. The flow of electrons produces an electric current.
The cost of a residential solar electric system can vary depending on the amount of power required and the availability of state and regional incentives.
Many homeowners finance their solar power systems with funds from a mortgage, second mortgage or personal or home-equity line of credit. One thing worth considering: many customers who finance a solar power system find that their loan payment is often equal to or lower than their monthly utility bill. Plus the solar system they’ve installed has added value to their property and protection against the inevitable future utility rate increases.
The Greenskies Pioneer program is for homeowners who would like to play an elevated role in the coming solar revolution.
Greenskies would like to make at least one solar powered home in each new territory it enters a “showcase” home where future customers can get a first-hand look at how a rooftop solar system will look on their own homes. Greenskies Pioneers would not only be willing to let future Greenskies customers make appointments to take a closer look at their system but would also be willing to answer questions about the system’s reliability, practicality, ease of use etc.
More proactive Greenskies Pioneers will tell their friends and acquaintances about the benefits of their new solar power system, encouraging them to take a closer look at a system that can save them money and increase the value of their home. Greenskies Pioneers can even invite a number of friends to a party or social function to which Greenskies would send a representative to talk to the group about solar energy and answer any questions individuals might have.
In return for their efforts, Greenskies Pioneers would receive a discount on the price of their residential solar power system. Pioneers who generate relatively greater numbers of leads and referrals could trigger even larger discounts.
